AUTSE Awardee

2017 AUTSE Outstanding Achievement Awardee

The Executive Committee of AUTSE has decided that Professor Zeng-Yuan Guo of Tsinghua University shall be awarded the first Outstanding Achievement Award for his life-time achievements in thermal sciences and engineering. The committee valued his original research encompassing thermofluid dynamics, thermal synergy, micro/nano heat transfer mechanisms, thermomass theory and entransy, which has transformed our understanding of the physical mechanisms in many kinds of thermal systems and led to very effective methods to optimize thermal designs. The award lecture and ceremony will be given during the 1st Asian Conference on Thermal Sciences (ACTS), which is going to be held  in Jeju, Korea in March 2017. The details can be found in the webpage of ACTS, http://acts2017.org.

2017 AUTSE Young Scientist Awardee

The Executive Committee of AUTSE has decided that Professor Li Chen of Xi’an Jiaotong University shall be awarded the first Young Scientist Award for his accomplishments in thermal sciences and engineering. The committee valued his work on the physicochemical mechanisms of multiscale thermal processes in porous media which have applications in many fields. His experimental and numerical investigations of these complex processes have led to new multi-scale models for these complex, coupled micro-macro scale flow and thermal transport phenomena. The award ceremony will be given during the 1st Asian Conference on Thermal Sciences (ACTS), which is going to be held  in Jeju, Korea in March 2017. The details can be found in the webpage of ACTS, http://acts2017.org.

2017 AUTSE Young Scientist Awardee

The Executive Committee of AUTSE has decided that Professor Haidong Wang of Kyushu University shall be awarded the first Young Scientist Award for his accomplishments in thermal sciences and engineering. The committee valued his work on the thermophysical properties of low-dimensional materials and nano-manufacturing techniques. His contribution has led to breakthroughs that will impact the development and use of nano-sensors. His research has also advanced our understanding of micro/nanoscale heat transfer phenomena. The award ceremony will be given during the 1st Asian Conference on Thermal Sciences (ACTS), which is going to be held  in Jeju, Korea in March 2017. The details can be found in the webpage of ACTS http://acts2017.org.
